Terms
These terms cover buying and using Stoot, a macOS app made by Joze Gradisar ("we", "us"). By buying or using Stoot you agree to them.
Who sells Stoot
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's buyer terms apply to your purchase.
The free version
Stoot is free to download and use, with every feature. Images exported without a license carry a small “Made with Stoot” mark. A license removes it.
Price and payment
- A Stoot license is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription.
- The first 100 licenses sell at $19 (the founding price). After that, the price is $49.
- Prices are in US dollars. Paddle adds any VAT or sales tax that applies where you live and shows the final price at checkout.
- The founding price applies while the counter on this site shows founding licenses left. A checkout opened at the founding price can be completed at that price even if the last founding license sells in the meantime.
- A friend's referral code takes $5 off (see Referral program).
Your license
- After payment you get a license key. It lets one person use Stoot on up to 2 Macs they own or control.
- The license includes all 1.x updates. A future major version may be sold separately.
- Screenshots you make with Stoot are yours. You can use them anywhere, including store listings for your clients.
- Don't share, resell or publish your key. We may block keys that are shared publicly.
- You may not decompile, modify or redistribute the app, except where the law allows it.
Referral program
The referral program is run by Joze Gradisar. Paddle processes the discounts and refunds it involves. By sharing your link or accepting a reward, you agree to these rules.
1. Who can take part
Anyone who has bought a Stoot license that hasn't been fully refunded (the "referrer"). You get a personal referral link and code on the receipt page, at stoot.app/license, and in the app. Your link is for you; don't sell or transfer it.
2. The friend's discount
Someone who buys Stoot through your link or with your code (the "friend") gets $5 off at checkout, or the equivalent Paddle shows in their currency. One discount applies per order, and it can't be combined with other discounts.
3. Your reward, and its limit
- For your first qualifying purchase (section 4), you get 50% of the amount you actually paid for your order back, including tax and after any discount, as a partial refund of your own Stoot order. For example, a $19 purchase earns $9.50; a $49 purchase earns $24.50; a $14 purchase earns $7 (bought with a friend's discount).
- There is one reward per order. After it, your link keeps giving friends their discount, but earns no further rewards.
- If part of your order has already been refunded, the reward is reduced so that you never get back more than you paid.
- Rewards are only ever paid as refunds of your own purchase. They have no cash value, and aren't paid out in any other form, transferred or combined across orders.
4. What counts as a qualifying purchase
A purchase qualifies only if all of these are true:
- It's a paid Stoot order made through your link or with your code while the program is running.
- It was made by a different person from you, not by you, with another of your accounts or email addresses, with your payment method, or on your behalf.
- It wasn't refunded, disputed or charged back during its 14-day refund window, and isn't being disputed when we check it.
- It wasn't obtained in breach of section 7.
5. When and how rewards are paid
- We check your first friend's purchase after its 14-day refund window has closed and pay the reward within 30 days after that.
- Paddle pays the reward as a partial refund to the payment method you bought Stoot with, in the currency you paid. Your bank or card provider may take a few more days to show it.
- If your payment method can no longer receive refunds, contact us and we'll try to find another way through Paddle; where none is possible, the reward can't be paid.
- We decide whether a purchase qualifies in good faith, using Paddle's order records.
6. If you refund your own purchase
The reward is a part-refund of your order, so a later refund of your own purchase covers only what's left of your payment. Once your order is fully refunded, your link stops working for rewards, and a reward for a purchase still inside its refund window lapses.
7. Fair use
Share your link honestly with people who might want Stoot. You may not:
- send spam or unsolicited messages, or post your link where the rules of a site or community forbid it;
- make misleading claims, for example that a license is free, or that you are us or speak for us;
- run ads that bid on "Stoot" or similar terms, or post your code on coupon, deal or cashback sites;
- create fake accounts or orders, refer yourself, or buy (or have others buy) just to collect rewards.
If we reasonably believe these rules were broken, we may deactivate your code and withhold rewards that haven't been paid yet. We'll tell you why if you ask.
8. Say it's a referral link
Because you can get money back, the law in many places (including the EU, the UK and the US) requires you to make that clear when you share your link publicly, for example by saying "referral link" or using the platform's paid-partnership label. The posts we suggest already say "referral link". You're responsible for meeting the rules where you share.
9. Founder numbers
Founding-price orders are numbered in the order they were paid. The number is for fun and for sharing; it doesn't give any extra rights. Numbers run from 1 to 100.
10. Tax
A reward lowers the price you paid, and Paddle adjusts the VAT or sales tax on the refund. We don't give tax advice; if a reward matters for your own taxes, that's for you to handle.
11. Changing or ending the program
We may change, pause or end the program at any time by updating this page. A purchase made before a change is handled under the terms that applied when it was made, and rewards for qualifying purchases made before the program ends are still paid.
Nothing in these rules limits your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.
Refunds
You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase. See the refund policy.
Your apps and the stores
Stoot and the agent you connect to it can run your app in simulators and emulators and add a screenshot mode to your project. Review those changes like any other code change, and keep your project in version control. You're responsible for the screenshots you upload and for meeting App Store and Google Play rules; Stoot's checks help, but they don't guarantee approval.
Warranty and liability
Stoot is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be free of errors, and we are not liable for lost data or indirect damages from using it. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by contract.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version on this page when you bought Stoot applies to that purchase.
