Privacy
Short version: your code, captures and projects stay on your Mac. We only handle what's needed to sell you a license.
The app
- Stoot works on your Mac. Your app's code, your simulator and emulator captures, your projects and your exports never leave it. The app has no analytics.
- Stoot doesn't send anything to an AI service. If you connect a coding agent, that agent talks to Stoot on your Mac, and what the agent sends to its own provider is covered by that provider's terms.
- Your license key is checked on your Mac, without going online.
- If you activate with an order ID instead of a key, the app sends that order ID to stoot.app to get your key. Nothing else is sent.
- Stoot checks stoot.app for updates. That request includes the app version and your macOS version, nothing else.
Payments
Paddle.com is our Merchant of Record. When you buy Stoot, Paddle collects your name, email, country, payment details and billing address, and processes them under Paddle's privacy policy. We never see your card details. Paddle shares your email address, country and order details with us so we can issue your license and help with support.
License keys
Your key contains your Paddle order ID, the email you paid with, and, for founding licenses, your founding number. It's signed so the app can verify it. Anyone you give your key to can read those details, so keep it to yourself.
Referral links
- Your referral link contains a code, not your name or email.
- When someone buys through your link, Paddle records the discount on their order so we can pay your reward. We don't tell you who they are.
This website
- stoot.app uses no cookies of its own and no ad trackers. If you arrive through a referral link, the code is kept in your browser's local storage for 30 days so checkout can apply the discount.
- We count page views and downloads on our server, with Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine. Each count records the page or file, your country, the website that linked to us and the time. It doesn't record your IP address or anything that identifies you or your browser, and nothing runs in your browser to do it.
- Our server keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, page) for security and debugging, for up to 30 days.
- When you open checkout, Paddle's script loads from paddle.com and Paddle's policies apply to it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, at hello@stoot.app. We keep order records as long as tax law requires. For data Paddle holds, contact Paddle.
