App Store Connect · iOS 27 · Stoot 1.4

Your App Store page
got a header.

iOS 27 adds art to the top of the product page and to search results, and both can be looping video. Here's what changed in App Store Connect, and how Stoot makes each piece from the project your screenshots already live in.

Unpause's header, made in Stoot: 12 seconds, three headlines, one seamless loop. The dashed box is the part every device shows.

What changed.
What Stoot does.

Everything App Store Connect added for product pages this fall, with Apple's numbers, next to how Stoot handles it.

01Product page header

Product pages on iOS 27 can open with a wide piece of art at the top. It's optional, and it can be a still or a video.

21:9 · 3840 × 1646 · JPG or PNG

In Stoot

A Header canvas sits next to your screenshot sets, in the same project. It uses the same captures, fonts and colors, and every language comes along.

02Search results

Search can show one piece of art in place of your screenshots. For many people it's the first thing they see of your app.

3:2 · 1920 × 1280 to 3840 × 2560 · JPG or PNG

In Stoot

A Search canvas at full size, laid out for a small card: a big headline with the device beside it. A check flags text under 110 px, too small to read in search.

03Universal art

One 16:9 image can fill both places. Only the universal asset can stand in for the search art as well. It can't be a video.

16:9 · 5244 × 2950 · PNG only

In Stoot

A Universal canvas that exports PNG. It never gets a Make It Move button, since Apple takes no video for it.

04Video

Header and search art can be a video. It plays muted and loops, and in search it can't be unmuted.

30 or 60 fps · 5 to 30 s · MOV, M4V or MP4

In Stoot

Make It Move turns header or search art into a loop: scenes that swap headlines and screens, transitions between them, and slow drift on the background and the device. Stoot checks that the last frame meets the first, so the loop has no seam.

05Encoding

Apple sets the size, frame rate and length, but names no codec. A 3840 × 2560 H.264 video needs Level 6, beyond the 5.x levels devices commonly decode.

H.264 · Level 5.1 · BT.709

In Stoot

Stoot writes the video itself, with no ffmpeg to install. Search video comes out at 3072 × 2048 and header video at 3840 × 1646, both Level 5.1, with colors converted to BT.709 so the video matches the stills.

06Safe areas

Every device crops the art its own way. Only a center area shows everywhere, and Apple gives its size only in the design templates.

header 1646 × 661 · search 2168 × 1030 · universal 1402 × 962

In Stoot

The safe areas from Apple's templates are built in. The canvas shows them, the layout keeps text inside them, and the checks flag anything that leaves them, at every quarter second of a video.

07Rules for art

Unlike screenshots, art doesn't have to show the app in use. It can't show prices, discounts, URLs, copyright lines, other platforms or Apple's badges, and it has to suit a 4+ rating.

In Stoot

The checks read every text in every language and flag prices, discounts, URLs, ©, other platforms and Apple recognitions like App of the Day, before you upload.

08Review and the Asset Library

Art is reviewed on its own, without a new version. Upload it on the version page or to the new Asset Library, and publish an approved asset to the live version from there.

In Stoot

Export puts each piece next to your screenshots, one folder per canvas and language, with the MP4 beside its poster frame. Drag them into App Store Connect: Apple has no Asset Library API yet, so uploading is by hand for now.

09Custom pages and tests

You can have up to 70 custom product pages and assign keywords to them, so they show in search. Product page optimization tests up to 3 treatments, and headers can be tested too.

In Stoot

Looks keep variants of the whole set in one project: other headlines, colors, screens and art. Export All Looks writes each one to its own folder, ready for a custom page or a test treatment.

Two real apps,
in motion.

Header and search art for a fasting tracker and a habit tracker, each made by Claude Code in the app's own repo with Stoot. What you see is the MP4 Stoot exported, scaled down for this page.

Fasting tracker

Unpause

Its header is the one at the top of this page: three headlines take turns over a flame that never stops moving, a 360-frame image sequence the agent drew for this loop. In search, the phone steps through three screens of the app.

header 3840 × 1646 · search 3072 × 2048 · 12 s · 30 fps

Habit tracker

Grindly

A sweep of tiles runs through the header while the line changes. In search, the phone walks from the dashboard to a missed day to a habit's history, each with its own headline.

header 3840 × 1646 · search 3072 × 2048 · 12 s · 30 fps

Ask for it.
Or make it yourself.

1With your agent

In your app's repo, ask:

Make App Store header and search art for iOS 27, and make the header move.

The agent lays out the art, renders stills and filmstrips to check the motion, and fixes whatever the checks flag. Every change shows up in Stoot as it happens.

2By hand

Under Header & Search in the sidebar, click + and pick a canvas. Choose a layout, type the headline and click Make It Move. Press play on the canvas to watch the loop, then export.

From the command line, stoot video -c header writes the same MP4.
